Bay showing sequence of upper Jurassic and Cretaceous (Purbeckian to Middle Chalk). Chalk cliffs towards centre of bay conspicuous by the presence of dissolution pipes, although difficult to access, interestingly yield gypsum, aluminite and other species. Elsewhere marcasite/pyrite nodules to be found in the lower chalk.
