Mount Agamenticus is a prominent geographical feature in the town of York. There is a variety of alkaline rocks exposed in ledges as well as in large float boulders. The alkaline granite and alkaline syenite are noted for unusual minerals in the rock. Cavities are rare, however.

Outcrops due south of Mount Agamenticus near Maine Route 91 contain a paisanite dike on a hill crest just north of the village of Scotland. Wandke (1922) noted an unidentified brown "titaniferous" platy mineral in thin section.
