Mina Valea Vinului

The Valea Vinului mining area was first mentioned in the earlier 12th to 13th centuries.
The Valea Vinului Mine is attested from 1774. It is the first opened mine on the South of Rodna Mountains. It was abandoned in 2005.

The Valea Vinului area is located in the South of Rodna Mountains, southern Dragoș Vodă fault. Geological, was formed by evolution from an oceanic crust by two tectonical-subduction processes: Caledonian paleo subduction and later, Alpine subduction. Neogene calc-alkaline intrusive magmatism. Paleogene and Miocene sedimentary deposits.
