About 10 kilometres north-west of the Cocklebiddy Roadhouse on the Nullabor Plain. The cave (unseen) is at the base of the cliff. Known for archerite and a cave diving location. A permit is required to enter the cave.
The Nullabor Plain is a vast, flat, largely featureless region between Norseman in Western Australia, and Ceduna in South Australia. It is the world's largest single piece of limestone and occupies an area of about
200 000 kilometres. The Trans Australian Railway, and a highway cross it, but there are no towns. The featureless terrain is only occasionally interupted by a giant sinkhole, with a saline lake at the bottom, sometimes leading off into tunnels stretching for kilometres.
The cave is known for bat poo species, where guano from bat colonies react with the mineral in the wall rocks, to create new species. Cocklebiddy Cave though is more known for extreme cave diving. It is the longest single tunnel cave in Australia at 6 kilometres long. In 1983, a world record at the time was set here for the longest cave dive.
