The site consists of a number of calcareous nodules containing baryte and calcite, exposed by erosion at the base of the slopes of the Book Cliffs in the Cretaceous Mancos Shale formation. The site is located in Grand County, Utah in SE1/4 Section 10,T17S,R25E, SLB&M.
The site was first collected in 1976, but sometime before 2009 most of the site was destroyed by the construction of road for a gas well. There are a few remaining nodules in the dry wash to the northwest of the original site.
