A small copper mine, which worked an ENE-trending lode from two shafts southwest and southeast of Cargibbitt farm. The western shaft belonged to Wheal Sedley, an older working which was included in the sett. According to Dines, the sett also included another old working, known as Wheal Salisbury, but this mine cannot now be identified. A NS-trending crosscourse which passed through the sett east of the eastern shaft is said to have carried lead ores.
The mine was abandoned in 1865. There are no records of output.
