The locality Samiresy covers a number of pegmatite dikes (classified as potassic pegmatites after A. Lacroix 1922) worked for minerals containing U, beryl and rose quartz.

It is located SW of Tritriva and about 20 km SW of the town Antsirabe in the main highland of Madagascar.

One of these dikes is the type locality of the now discredited "samiresite", a plumbian uranpyrochlore.
