Rio del Bastardo is a tributary stream located on the orographic right side of Taro river (Taro valley, also known as Val Taro in Italian), to the SSW of Roccamurata.
The outcrop is located on the orographic right side of Rio del Bastardo stream (translated from Italian, "Bastard's Creek") and consists of an intensively weathered ophiolitic breccia permeated by carbonate-rich veins.
