Evaporation of water in saltworks from springs and wells located at the confluence between Arroyo del Pradejón and Rio Jalón. The salt obtained, halite, comes from the dissolution of salt deposits at levels of Keuper (Triassic Age). These saltworks were well known from the XII century, but were probably known by Romans and before. The saltworks were affected by the construction of the Madrid-Zaragoza motorway. Some areas are currently used for fish farms, but even today, some installations are well maintained and in operation, and well worth a visit.
