A copper mine.

The Estrella mine is located on the Mount of Majadillas at the southern end of the municipal town of Pardos. It is an ancient site of copper and silver whose exploitation dates back to the seventeenth century, being the mid- nineteenth century its peak operation coinciding with the time of splendor of the neighboring mines of Hiendelaencina.

This is a site of dyke morphology associated with effusive episodes (rhyolite) and late-Hercynian fracturing, with a primary sulphides mineralization (galena-chalcopyrite-pyrite-tetrahedrite) filling tectonic breccias and a significant secondary alteration, controlled by the nature of the surrounding rock of the mineralization, leading to the formation of carbonates in the case of limestone and arsenates in the case of slates and quartzite.
Special conditions have a complex assemblage including remarkable specimens of clinoclase, which has made this site a known location regularly visited by collectors who have dug in vast tailings.

At the time of exploitation magnificent malachite samples were collected in the form of banded masses of large size and presumably other mineral samples which unfortunately were not preserved and that would probably competed with other similar sites such as Majuba Hill (Colorado).
