Location & History: A ridge/range located in the Mojave Desert NE of the Silurian Hills, S of the Kingston Range, W of the Clark Mountain Range and N of Squaw Mountain and Turquoise Mountain, in northeastern San Bernardino County.

Small amounts of gold have been mined in the Shadow Mountains. Gold was discovered here in 1894, and there was some activity for a few years following.

Geology: There are several quartz veins in granitic gneiss that are associated with aplitic dikes. The ore deposits contain nature gold and varying amounts of copper.
