A populated place and former hobo camp and bathing facility used during construction of a nearby power plant, hence the name "Hobo Hot Springs." The name was changed to Miracle Hot Springs in 1947 in allusion to the "miracle" cures obtained in the hot springs.
At one point an ingenuous miner fabricated a device to use the water from the hot springs to provide compressed air for the mines in nearby Havilah.
