Fissures in orthogneis and in the aplite-like veins sometimes associated.

Mineralised blocks are disseminated in the plain at an elevation of about 2100 m, just above Rifugio E. Falck, and in the conoid descending from the top of Monte Maurignino.

Fissures in orthogneiss are lined with small quartz crystals in association with hematite, clinozoisite-epidote, and calcite. Pyrite (as octahedral crystals), pyrrhotite, arsenopyrite, and an asbestiform amphibole are found in the aplite-like veins. Sometimes, white compact layers of datolite fill the fissures in both orthogneiss and aplite-like veins. Cavities in datolite layers are lined with clear crystals of the same mineral in association with aragonite, calcite, pyrite (as cubic crystals), and purple fluorite.
