Gams bei Hieflau is a village and a former municipality, since 2015 part of the municipality of Landl.

Fluorite in Gutenstein limestone.

Jet was mined at Schönleiten und Haspelgraben from at least 1414 until 1559. Prospection for coal in the mid 1800s and shortly after WW2. Prospection (geophysics at Schönleiten and two trenches at Schönleiten and Haspelgraben, respectively) for jet during the early 1990.

Cretaceous/Paleogene boundary, Gams section (Grachev, 2009). All minerals other than fluorite found in the boundary clay layer (Grachev et al., 2008). The transitional layer is also rich in Ir, As, Zn, Cu, Cr.
