A Late Jurassic marine basin in eastern Turkmenistan that hosts several very large potash deposits. Its easternmost portion extends into Uzbekistan.

The salt-bearing formation consists of a borate-rich anhydrite layer at its base, a massive halite layer with scattered inclusions of anhydrite bodies at its center, and potassium-rich beds alternating with halite and sandstone layers at its top. The whole formation is up to 1000 m thick; it rests on a bed of Oxfordian argillaceous limestones and is overlain by a cover of Quaternary sediments, predominantly marl.

Total potash reserves are estimated at almost 20 billion tons (Zhang et al., 2005).
