Part of the Frizington Parks group, the Goose Green property lay on the east side of the main road through Frizington.
Mining was started in 1855 by the Parkside Mining Company. In 1875, changed ownership to the Goose Green Iron Ore Company who worked the mine until 1892. The mine was abandoned in 1897 until the Frizington Mining Company extracted some ore from the upper levels between 1910 and 1913.
