In Quechua, "Yarvi" means copper, "Coya" means mine, so this isn't a very imaginative name for a copper mine. The rich cementation zone has been completely worked out. Located 50km NNE of Oruro. (NOT the same mine as the Salvadora antimony mine in Yarvicoya, Oruro!)
An old gallery opened up again several decades after the mine had closed was found to contain large massive growths of post-mining chalcanthite.
Stibnite is limited to an upper level located above the copper veins.
