This mine worked three ENE-trending lodes on the north slopes of the valley south of Newbridge. Main Lode was worked from a series of shafts north of the road from Hugus to Newbridge, which are now largely obscured. Lead Lode, south of Main Lode, was worked from shafts south of the railway line, where dumps and engine house ruins are remaining in dense woodland. Ready Money Lode, north of Main Lode, was worked from a single shaft in the eastern part of the sett.
From 1861 to 1875, the mine produced 70 tons of black tin, 370 tons of arsenic, and 370 tons of iron ore from the gossan. The gossan is said to have yielded silver ore and possibly also contained gold.
