The Göynük antimony deposit is located 1.7 km east of Göynük village on the south flank of Caluva Mountain at an elevation of approximately 1270 metres.

This deposit has been known for more than a hundred years and was sporadically exploited by small-scale underground operations.

Göynük is a low-temperature fault-controlled antimony deposit and stibnite mineralization is bound to the highly silicified rocks, which are located on the contact of sedimentary limestone sequences and Murat Dagi volcanic (ophiolite) complex.

Since 2008 the Göynük deposit is owned by Tri Star Resources Ltd.
