Mina Salvadora
A small old copper porphyric deposit, reworked in the last 2 years by a Chilean company. The mine is particularly interesting for a new find (2007) of interesting leightonite crystals growing on atacamite & paratacamite.
This mine should not be confused with Salvadora mine, which is in the Loa province, and not far from Calama city; the Salvadora adit, was visited by the prominent American mineralogist Marc Chance Bandy, during 1934-1935.
