Magmatic-hydrothermal vein type molybdenum deposit, hosted in Proterozoic metamorphic rocks (schist, amphibolite and granulites) and Late Jurassic sandstones and siltstones, that are intruded by Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous granites and granite porphyries. Within the contact zone, limestone lenses locally occurring in the sedimentary rocks were transformed into skarns, which host lead-zinc mineralizations. The deposit is worked from three mines: Pingdi, which is located in the contact zone, and Shangxikeng and Dongkeng, which are located outside of the contact zone.
