Důl Pepř


Mine Pepř was the most important mine in the last period of mining in Jílové district in 1939 – 1968. In the depth of 150 m was Pepř connected to the Bohuliby mine. The maximum depth was 300m. In the place of mine Pepř was built ore mill that produced between 1958 and 1968 1,2 t of gold. The mine was started in 1830 and was closed in 1968. The dumps of mine Pepř are one of the few remaining places to collect minerals in Jílové district - sporadic occurrence of quartz - calcite veins with gold and tellurides. The mine is accesible by the Václav adit, now operating by Montanika z.s. It is possible to visit the mine and collect specimens with sporadically occuring gold and tellurides on the main Šlojíř vein.
