Long abandoned greywacke quarries. An assemblage of rare selenides in dolomite veins was discovered in around 1920 and studied in 1955 by Prof. P. Ramdohr.

Located on the eastern slopes of the Großer Trogtaler Berg (mountain) between little Trog valley ("Kleines Trogtal") and large Trog valley ("Großes Trogtal"), 2 km north of Lautenthal.
