Halls Gap is about 5 miles south of Stanford on US 27. This site is reopened as of 4/20/03 (April 20, 2003) by Hwy 27. Stanford is approximately 30 miles west of I-75 at Mt. Vernon. Take Hwy 150 West to Stanford. At the stoplight in Stanford, you will see the Wal-mart on your left. Turn left onto Hwy 27 and go approximately 5 miles to the road cut where you will see a lot of boulders next to the road on the left. Park on the left side of the road. Be careful, there is heavy traffic coming down the hill on the productive side!
