The Harris Creek Fluorspar District is located northwest of the Rock Creek Graben. Two major fluorspar mines: The Denton Mine and the Annabel Lee Mine, were operated by the Ozark-Mahoning Company between the late 1970s to 1995.
Although the Harris Creek Fluorspar District was formerly named by Lillie (1988); Denny et al. (2013) stressed that it should be independent of the nearby Goose Creek Fluorspar District as the mines of the Goose Creek District were vein type deposits and those of the Harris Creek District were bedding replacement deposits.
