The locality was described as halfway between Cargill and Scottie Creeks on the eastern shore of the Bonaparte River. Cargill Creek does not exist and Cargill is likely the misspelled place name of Carquile (also spelled as Carquil and Carquill), which is situated where Hat Creek joins the Bonaparte River. The position of the type locality is approximate.
