Large-scale polymetallic vein and stockwork deposit, hosted in carbon-bearing silty slate and siltstone of the Lixi Formation between a Hercynian granite intrusion and a Yanshanian granodiorite intrusion. The mineralized zone is about 2-4 km long and 1-2 km wide. The ore bodies consist of veins or complicated veined forms, and have clear boundaries to their host rocks. The ores occur as disseminations, massive, veinlets, stockworks and breccias. The tin orebodies cut through a diorite porphyrite dyke (K-Ar age: 221.34 Ma) and are cut themselves by a granite porphyry (Rb-Sr age: 132.4Ma). Hence, tin deposition probably took place during Hercynian to Yanshanian periods. The deposit is a multimetallic vein deposit formed at relatively shallow depth and moderately high temperature.
