31 valid minerals.

Detailed Mineral List:

Adamite
Formula: Zn2(AsO4)(OH)
Habit: globular
Colour: emerald green
Description: Cooper & Stanley (1990): "Very small quantities of a minutely globular emerald green mineral were recently found on the dump from the cross-cut at [NY31303655] associated with agardite-mixite and aurichalcite. The green mineral gave an x-ray powder pattern near to cuprian adamite (M.P. Cooper Collection; det. BM(NH): XRD)."
'Agardite'
Habit: fibrous sprays
Colour: pale green; pale blue
Description: Specimens collected by B. Young from the dump of a cross-cut to the Deer Hills baryte lode [NY31303655] show minute pale green sprays (< 0.7mm) on quartz. In addition to Ce, La, and Nd the fibrous crystals contained some Bi. More recently found as minute pale blue fibrous crystals with a mineral near cuprian adamite and aurichalcite (M.P. Cooper Collection; det. BM(NH): XRD).
Agardite-(La)
Formula: LaCu6(AsO4)3(OH)6 · 3H2O
Anglesite
Formula: PbSO4
Description: Small crystals in altered galena from the old level at the source of the beck [NY316358] (King Collection, National Museum of Wales, Cardiff).
'Apatite Group'
Arsenopyrite
Formula: FeAsS
Habit: massive
Description: Cooper & Stanley (1990): "Dumps from old workings near the junction of the Deer Hills Quartz vein with the Potts Gill baryte veins [NY31453626] contain massive arsenopyrite much altered to granular scorodite, pharmacosiderite etc."
Aurichalcite
Formula: (Zn,Cu)5(CO3)2(OH)6
Habit: scales and masses
Colour: pale turquoise blue
Description: From the cross-cut dump at [NY31303655] (M.P. Cooper Collection, det. BM(NH): XRD).
Baryte
Formula: BaSO4
Habit: massive, tabular
Description: As solid masses and as small indistinct tabular crystals with pyromorphite from the northern trial. Other trial workings, now mostly obliterated, were made for baryte in Short Grain.
Beudantite
Formula: PbFe3(AsO4)(SO4)(OH)6
Description: Cooper & Stanley (1990): "Identified on a specimen from an old working on the Deer Hills Quartz vein [NY31453626] where it is associated with carminite and scorodite (det. BM(NH): XRD, N. Thomson, pers. comm.)"
Calcite
Formula: CaCO3
Caledonite
Formula: Pb5Cu2(SO4)3(CO3)(OH)6
Habit: minute prismatic gem-like crystals on quartz; fibrous encrustation of recent (post-mining) formation in cavities in massive baryte.
Description: D.I. Green Collection. Det. Leeds University: XRD, 1987 (D.I. Green, pers. comm.).
Carminite
Formula: PbFe3+2(AsO4)2(OH)2
Habit: encrustations

Linarite
Formula: PbCu(SO4)(OH)2
Mattheddleite
Formula: Pb5(SiO4)1.5(SO4)1.5(Cl,OH)
Colour: colourless
Description: On one specimen from the old baryte prospect in the north bank of the gill, mattheddleite occurs as extremely minute sparkling colourless crystals lining small (<5mm) cavities in solid barite with caledonite, susannite etc. The terminations of these crystals are severely etched. Det. BM(NH): XRD, 1987. (Cooper & Stanley, 1990-1991).
