Located just west of the road between Arkaroola and the Paralana Hot Springs the mine is 21 km northeast of Arkaroola Village. A copper mine worked in the 1880's for predominantly carbonates, as shallow pits and costeans along the eastern flank of a low outcropping ridge. The host rock is a fractured talcose rock containing well formed magnetite crystals. Quartz crystals often coated with goethite occur lining cavities in quartzite to the south and east of the diggings. Amethyst has been found on the next rise 200 metres to the west of the mine.
