Emerald deposit, worked in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Emeralds are coloured by vanadium (and minor chromium) and contain complex multiphase inclusions consisting of water, gaseous methane, halite, sylvite, calcite and a sulfide assemblage (pyrrhotite, galena, and sphalerite) (Rondeau et al., 2007).

Pegmatite lenses in dark grey, iron sulphide-bearing alum shale (several adits along a trail leading to the mine).

Presently, the local farm owner allows collecting on the mine area and its dumps for a small fee (100 NOK or about 12 EUR per day).
