Superb specimens of quartz with zeolites and adularia in alpine clefts through a gneissic or schistose rock were recovered in the left portion of the quarry.
Some of the quartz crystals exhibit Dauphine twinning.
A variety of copper minerals occur at this medium-sized quarry. The copper minerals occur in schist and as grains in calcite marble. Primary metallic minerals are chalcopyrite, arsenopyrite, chalcocite, and questionable covellite. Secondary minerals are abundant on schist facies; brochantite is the most common secondary (pseudomalachite is questionable). On marble malachite and chrysocolla are obvious, from altered chalcopyrite grains. Allophane and arsenic were erroneously reported.
2/26/2007 -Linarite and brochantite were identified on samples collected at the mine.
