A mostly alluvial goldfield west of Scottsdale, with gold derived from thin veins and stock works in the contact zones of small granodiorite intrusions into hornfelsed Mathinna group sediments. The hornfels contains sekaninaite, biotite, quartz and feldspars and makes up much of the cobbles on the valley floor.
