A gypsum occurrence located in sec. 20, T7N, R19E, about 2 miles NNE of Cibecue Peak and about 4¼ miles WSW of Carrizo, on Indian Reservation land. The range value presented in Elevatorski is incorrect.
Mineralization is hosted in the Supai Formation (clastic sedimentary rocks). Gypsum occurs within a stratigraphic interval of approximately 100 feet, the top of which is approximately 200 feet below the base of the Fort Apache Limestone member of the Supai Formation. It consists of from 1 to 3 gypsum beds ranging in thickness from 1 to 12 feet each, and each separated by from 20 to 40 feet of clastic strata.
Development considerations: This deposit is located in a canyon with steep walls and is not subject to open cut mining methods.
