An Fe occurrence/prospect located in secs. 8, 16 & 17, T9N, R15E, about ¾ mile N of Gentry Mountain and W of Gentry Creek, and approximately 8 miles E of Young, on National Forest land.
Mineralization is a replacement deposit with an irregular ore body, 6.1 meters thick, hosted in Mescal Limestone. An associated rock unit is diabase.
Assay data: Semi-quantitative spectographic analysis of sample 2 indicates the presence of 0.01 to 0.1% Co, Cu, and Ni and 0.001 to 0.01% V. Chemical analysis of hematite samples contain 50.5% Fe, 0.5% TiO2, 0.35% Mn, 0.07% S, 0.33% P, and 21.2% SiO2 (measurements are averaged from 3 samples).
