A former surface Mn mine located on 4 contiguous unpatented claims in the center N½ sec. 14, T8S, R30E, about 1.0 mile SE of Ash Peak Summit, adjacent to the A-1 claims, 14.8 miles WNW of Duncan on/near the Greenlee County line, on BLM-administered land. Geodetic and UTM coordinates describe prospects in the NE¼ of the section. Discovered in 1951 by C.M. Magill. Owned by C.M. Magill and Associates (1961). Operated by Mr. John T. Morris.

Mineralization is in lenticular and irregular bunches in two fractures. The northern fracture ore zone is 300 feet (91.44 meters) long, 3 feet (0.91 meters) wide, strikes N to N50W, and dips W to 60NE. The southern fracture ore zone is 50 feet (15.24 meters) long, and 3 feet (0.91 meters) wide, strikes N to N50W and dips W to 60NE. The mineralized zones are hosted in andesite. Gangue consists primarily of unmineralized fragments of volcanic rock and calsite. Ore control was two N-trending fractures that cut fine-grained volcanic rock. Alteration on surface. An associated rock unit is rhyolite. Deposits are similar to those encountered on the A-1 group claims and the Black Beauty group claims.

Area structures include steep northerly-trending zones of shearing and brecciation in volcanic rocks. Manganese deposits form lenticular bodies composed of a network of narrow seams and small, irregular bunches of oxides deposited around fragments of country rock.

Workings are 76.2 meters long and 3.66 meters deep. Developments included shallow open cuts on both veins. Most ore was recovered from 3 shallow open cuts on the north vein.
