Kuroko-type massive sulphide deposit. Also the site of one of the most important ore smelters in Japan, which treated Kuroko-type ores also from other mines in addition to the Kosaka mine. Discovered in 1861 and mined from 1884 until 1974.
One of the largest Cu-Pb-Zn mines in Japan.
