A former underground Cu-Au-Ag mine located on 5 claims in the center sec. 5, T4S, R13, about 0.5 miles S of the "Spine" Ridge, about 3¾ miles NE of Grayback (peak) and about 4¾ miles E of Kelvin on the Gila River (about 300 feet N of the river), on BLM-administered land. Produced 1935-1940. Owned by Leo and Mary Truofreh (1961). Other operators included Mary Ortega, Thomas Puryear, and Fred Brown.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granite. Associated rock units are the Ruin (Oracle) Granite and rhyodacite porphyry. Area structures include E-W-trending rhyodacite porphyry dikes. Chalcopyrite was found in mines to the east with similar geology. These vein deposits probably are related to a rhyodacite intrusive episode.
Workings include 4 shafts and 2 tunnels of unknown size.
