A Cu prospect located in secs. 2, 3, 10 & 11, T8S, R18E, about ½ mile N of the old Copper Creek townsite/post office, on a line between secs. 3 & 10, near the common corner of secs. 2, 3, 10, & 11, on private land.
Mineralization is a nearly circular breccia pipe in Copper Creek Granodiorite. The pipe is nearly circular in plan, 150-200 feet in diameter. Malachite occurs in very minor amounts. Local sericitization and chloritization of Granodiorite are the alterations. Related structures are block faulting trending NNW. The breccia fragments are generally less than 6 inches across. Strongly altered to quartz sericite, chlorite, and iron oxide. The pipe is surrounded by a 15 foot wide zone of fractured granodiorite. Regional trends: minor pre-Cretaceous E- and NE-trending folds and major post-Cretaceous NNW-trending faults.
