Old arsenic mine in sedimentary rocks: glauconitic silicated limestone and marl (+ a little baritic karst in the area where talmessite occurs).

Works were performed in the period 1860-1916 in the valleys of Roccaniera and Faravel streams, NE of Lucéram. In the valley of Roccaniera stream (Vallon de Roccaniera) there are two excavation areas: the main north works at about 770 m a.s.l., including Laurenti gallery (80 m long) and various short tunnels, pits, and trenches; the intermediate works at 705 m a.s.l., i.e. the Faraut gallery. The south works are located at 725 m a.s.l. in the valley of Faravel stream, where the now collapsed 90-m-long Dalmas gallery was excavated.

On the right riverbank of the Vallon de Rocanière, there are old workings with baryte, calcite, gypsum, fluorite, marcasite, orpiment, quartz, and realgar." [Belot, 1978]

"Saint-Laurent: (Coming from L'Escarène). Northeast of Nice on the N204 [currently the D2204]. A bit further [northeast] from Saint-Laurent is the hamlet of Braus. There is a quarry with goethite, pyrite, and quartz." [Belot, 1978]
