Rockslide material, consisting mainly of aplitic gneisses with small miarolitic cavities hosting some rare minerals.
The best finds in the (at that time) fresh material were made in the 1980s.

NOTE: Milarite and kainosite-(Y) are not reported from the Hopffeldboden. Their occurrence in this area is restricted to the nearby Hopffeldgraben, which is listed as a separate locality.
