A dacite lava dome that has been growing and changing shape since 1922. Elevation 2,510 meters (variable). Located 10 km from El Palmar village on the SW flanks of Santa Maria volcano.

Stoiber and Rose (1974) reported a couple unknown minerals that may have since been described, but a comparison of x-ray patterns is needed:
Al2(SO4)3 with an X-ray pattern matching ATSM 18-60. Possibly millosevichite?
KAl(SO4)2 with an X-ray pattern matching ATSM 3-337. Possibly steklite?
NaAl(SO4)2 with an X-ray pattern matching ATSM 16-172.
Na2Al(SO4)3 with an X-ray pattern matching ATSM 3-546.
NaFe(SO4)2 with an X-ray pattern matching ATSM 19-1209. Possibly eldfellite?
Na2Fe(SO4)3 with an X-ray pattern matching ATSM 3-509.
