A long walk or four wheel drive vechile is needed to reach the mine. It is on public land and is accessable. It contains two partially collapsed shafts, and a deep trench with rubbish. There are also foundations of buildings and small mullock piles. The landscape is hilly and open, unlike the thick scrub around the mines in the Ajana district. Specimens are small and scarce, but possibly the most easily accessed mine for cerussite.
The original lease was ML 115. A 1906 inspection largely matched recent observations. There were it says extensive but shallow workings following a distinct fissure vein, with much of the lode altered dyke rock. The dumps showed second class ore of quartz, galena, sphalerite, copper pyrites and carbonates of lead plentiful in weathered material. It notes sphalerite and copper staining was also common. The mine had been worked to 85 metres down and produced 1000 tonnes of ore.
The mine is located in the curve of a shear, which strikes north, and dips 70 degrees west. The shear at the mine site cuts a quartzite band in granulite and siliceous breccia.
Ferguson names nearby mines of which possibly little is left. Nooka South is 300 metres south of the main mine hosting a 30 metres long and 0.6 metre wide copper lode. Nooka West is 300 metres north-west of the main mine containing cerussite. Lucky Lou is south south-east of Nooka West showing bulldozing on weak mineralisation on a sheared dolerite contact. The Chiverton Mine is 240 metres south-west of Nooka on a link structure in a north trending shear, worked for cerussite and galena.
The total group has produced 11 580 tonnes of ore for 1239 tonnes of lead and 5007.5 g of silver. The mines were active in the 1870's, 1911-1918, and 1960-1967.
