Development Status: Past Producer
One of the earliest iron mines around Crystal Falls, operated jointly by Crystal Falls Iron Co. and Youngstown Iron Co. Also known as the Crystal Falls Mine, though the name was later applied to a different property in the area. Shaft No. 1 was started on an ore outcrop and abandoned in 1882 after shipping 1341 tons. A second shaft, the No. 2, was installed nearby with four levels opened. The property is 53 acres on irregularly-shaped Lot 3, Sec. 20 T43N-R32W.
