Minerals nearby Verampio and its famous hydroelectric power plant are known from different environments:

- Alpine fissures with large quartz crystals (right side of the Toce River) in schists;
- Verampio leucogranitic gneiss;
- molybdenite-bearing quartz vein (left side of the Toce River).

Alpine fissures in the Crodo-Baceno schists, evidenced in 1945 during the excavation of the penstock tunnel from Goglio (Baceno municipality) to Verampio (Crodo municipality), yielded large quartz crystals, usually hyaline and rarely sightly amethyst (Roggiani, 1975; Mattioli, 1979).

The molybdenite-bearing quartz vein, embedded in the Crodo-Baceno schists, crops out along the path from Verampio (Crodo municipality) to Crego (Premia municipality), on the left of the River Toce. In the mineralogical literature this occurrence (actually situated in the municipal territory of Premia) is commonly named Verampio, but in Omenetto & Brigo (1974) it is indicated as Crego.
