Located 3 kilometres south of the abandoned Baramine homestead.

Located in the northern Gregory Ranges, 245 kilometres south-east of Port Hedland. Historic lead mines extend south-east of this deposit for about 30 kilometres following the ranges, but these should really be referred to as the Braeside area, and will be written separately.

Early history and detailed geology for Baramine South could not be located and needs more research.

Zinc and copper occur in highly altered pyritic acid volcanics. Ferguson states only malachite, cuprite, and chalcocite could be seen on the dumps. Historic workings extend for 30 metres along the veins, and also contains one shaft. No recorded production. Mineralisation is part of a quartz vein, dipping steeply east. Marston (1979) states a north north-west silicified fault zone, containing malachite and cuprite.

Explored in recent years by Pandell, Shaw River Manganese Ltd, and Laconia Resources.
