Originally a quarry in the Joshua Rock member of the New London Gneiss - an aegirine-augite granite orthogneiss. In the 1980s Crystal Mall was built at the site and resulted in the recovery of new specimens. The remaining exposure is a long rock cut along state Route 85.

Description: Reported as aegirine in the reference in 1911, but the mineral found here has since been redefined as aegrine-augite.

Description: Reported by Dale and Gregory as aegirine in 1911, the mineral found here has since been redefined as aegirine-augite.
