The Anchor Gold Mine is 108 kilometres north of Laverton, 7 kilometres east of the old Duketon mining centre, and 4 kilometres south of the Moolart Well Gold Mine.
Gold is associated with quartz veining within highly altered chert, marking the contact with an ultramafic unit and basalt. The chert horizon trends north north-east, and dips steeply east. North north-west trending faults carry intense quartz veining, silification, and an increase of iron at the surface, all forming contributing factors to gold distribution.
Minerichie Investments Pty Ltd commenced a trial pit at the site in 1999. This reached a depth of 30 metres extracting 22 624 tonnes @ 27.92 g/t treated at the Sons of Gwalia plant at Leonora. Bronzewing Gold then deepened the pit from October 2001, obtaining 6294 tonnes @ 16.4 g/t. A total for the mine is 28 936 tonnes @ 25.8 g/t yielding 22 892 ounces.
2004 JORC Indicated resources left are 76 700 tonnes of ore @ 4.4 g/t yielding 10 800 ounces of gold. There is also an Anchor North prospect 500 metres to the north.
