A small ancient mine situated around 2.5 km NE of the town of Lavrion, close to (less than 1 km North of) the famous "Km 3" site. Mineralisation occurs from the weathering of Pb-Zn ores (galena, sphalerite), and includes a very interesting assemblage of Cd-minerals (type locality for niedermayrite) and a suite of interesting chlorides and sulfates.
Note on the mineral list:
Bendadaite and ojuelaite (associated with natropharmacosiderite, pharmacosiderite, and scorodite) were found on a small dump in the vicinity of the Esperanza adit. From the paragenetical point of view this material has nothing to do with the ores mined at the Esperanza mine but rather comes from the Kamariza area.
