Avicennite

Grain of lilac cuprostibite demonstrating its perfect cleavage. While the mineral from the type locality contain thallium, black to brownish spots of ochre are represented by microgranular avicennite. FOV is ~7x6 mm. Pavel M. Kartashov collection and photo.

2.4 x 1.9 x 1.5 cm a description of avicennite quoted from elsewhere on Mindat: "Black to brownish black coating (actually a fracture filling) of avicennite on cherty matrix. Thin films of avicennite are medium brown, and very thin films are orange-brown."

Molds in chert of parapierrotite crystals that have dissolved except for coating of orangish antimony oxide lining mold and fracture surfaces.
