Previously labelled Calciovolborthite I have renamed this specimen Tangeite in accordance with IMA Status 2006C discreditations, this being the CaCu(VO4)OH composition with TL from Tange Ravine, Turkestan. Specimen received from Tom Loomis.

A matrix, the top rich with pale bluish-green micro crystalline powdery tangeite. The name tangeite has replaced calciovolborthite. An old A.E. Foote label is glued to the base of the specimen. Neat historical piece!

Well-formed dark green crystals of tangeite revealed from calcite using a warm solution of sulfamic acid. The crystals thin out and become apple green sheet-like clusters towards the right of the vug. The vug is roughly 3-mm wide, and the image is composed of 9 images stacked with CombineZP.

A dark yellow-green crystal of tangeite on yellow tyuyamunite with green fibrous malachite on sandstone. I purchased this specimen from George Steven's cabinet at the 2017 Tucson micro mineral room. Radioactivity reads 450cpm at 1cm away using a Victoreen Thyac III with a 489-35 ABG sensitive probe (unshielded).
